I travel not to cross countries off a list, but to ignite passionate affairs with destinations.

About Glam Vacays, LLC
We are a boutique travel agency that specializes in "Experiential Luxury Cruisetours". We challenge the precept and popular quote by travel writer Paul Theroux that "Travel is glamorous only in retrospect."
Instead, we agree with Nyssa Chopra that "Luxury travel is about the experience, not just the appearance. Luxury travel may be glamorous, but not always meaningful. Local culture may not always be glamorous, but it's always meaningful." It's really about finding the right balance between being able to enjoy authentic local experiences without having to compromise on luxury, comfort or top-quality service.
Glam Vacays is where Luxury meets Experiential—planned around your specific interests, tastes and preferences to bring your destinations to life for truly authentic, one-of-a-kind, immersive experiences that become part of your life story.
What We Can Do For You
One definition of glamour is "transcending the everyday." What could be more transcendent than a cruise itself? A photo of a cruise ship has glamorous power. It promises to transport us out of the everyday, to take us away to some better place. Glamour invites us to live in a different world.
And while you're free to relax and be as casual as you like, you can rest assured that your vacation will be a "glamorous" experience, and not only in retrospect. With Glam Vacays, LLC glamour never takes a day off.
Since Glam Vacays is an independent agency in the Avoya Travel Network, you have an entire team of travel concierges spread throughout our vast network of preferred partners working 24/7 to assure your vacation is glamorous.
Why Use a Travel Agent
Clearly, there are many valid reasons for even the most internet-savvy, seasoned traveller to use a travel agent.
Did you know no matter where a trip is booked (online included), there's a commission already built into the price?
In fact, even if you book direct, the hotel, cruise or airline keeps the commission instead of passing the savings onto you.
Did you know that Americans feel so much pressure from day-to-day living that nearly a third of them cancel or delay a much-needed restorative vacation?
An industry survey found that 67% of vacationers have become stressed due to ‘information overload’ and are paralyzed with too many choices when researching and planning a vacation. Another 41% are stressed over scheduling things to do during their trip. Nearly half of respondents said having a ready-made vacation itinerary would reduce their stress. Enter the professional travel agent.
As a Travel Planner and Experience Maker, the services Glam Vacays provides is truly helping people and improving the world we live in. We introduce our clients to new places, new ideas, new people, new traditions. We guide couples, families, and individuals through major celebrations, milestones, and life transitions. We make them feel special and save them hours and hours of wandering aimlessly through minefields of internet mumbo jumbo and scams and confusing terms of service agreements.
Although travel agents offer great value, there is no formalized process to become a travel agent. This means there is no national board exam you need to pass, no state certification requirements. That can be great—anyone can break into the industry regardless of education, finances, or location. On the other hand, anytime "anyone" is involved by default you get a wide range of capabilities. Translation: You'll have some really unqualified people calling themselves travel agents.
When you trust your vacation planning to Glam Vacays, you are working with a highly-qualified and trained professional, illustrated by our certifications. We stay current on our preferred suppliers' products with ongoing training and webinars so we can always offer our clients the best itineraries, deals, and service.
Travel Is In My Genes
If, like me, you have a chronic restlessness and compulsive need to travel, you no longer need to feel ashamed about the excitement you feel over a new addition to your passport stamp collection. Scientists have discovered the existence of a "wanderlust gene" called DRD4-7r. Frankly, I think I have a double dose of the gene!
I'm a retired physician who comes from a large family of people in the travel industry and was an "airline brat". This afforded me the opportunity to visit 26 countries, several on more than one occasion, including England, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Yugoslavia (now Serbia), Canada, Mexico (including Baja Mexico), Belize, Guatemala, Ecuador (including the Galapagos), Brazil (including the Amazon), Ghana, Romania, South Africa (including Kruger National Park), Egypt, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Barbados, Haiti, St. Lucia, Grenada, Martinique, and Turk Caicos.
Aside from Grenada, Barbados and Baja Mexico, I researched and planned every trip myself without the assistance of a travel professional. Moreover, except on the rare occasion, I was a solo-traveler and spent anywhere from 1 week to 2 months traveling extensively through each destination becoming completely immersed into the culture, its people, and their language. This was long before "experiential travel" came into vogue.
I'm an avid skier, scuba diver (including liveaboards and shark dives), hobie cat sailor, ecotourist and lover of international cuisine. In fact, one of my favorite channels is the Travel Channel, and I'm crazy for anything Anthony Bourdain. Other favorite travel series include Rick Steves' Europe and The Voyager with Josh Garcia.
